Senior Estimator

DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Estimation Director, the Senior Estimator will proceed with estimating the construction costs of projects for which the company has committed to bidding.

ROLE OF THE ESTIMATOR:

•  Communicate and interact with all project stakeholders.
• Analyze tender documents.
• Gather all necessary information to launch tenders and follow up with subcontractors for each specialty.
• Conduct quantity surveys of materials and labor required for project completion.
• Launch tenders, invite subcontractors, and follow up on submitted bids as well as quantity surveys submitted by subcontractors.
• Conduct RFIs with suppliers/subcontractors and professionals during the tendering process (as needed).
• Participate in information sessions.
• Transmit documentation for submission via the transmission platform (FTP server).
• Validate the conformity of project submissions with designated authorities.
• Participate in transferring files to the construction team.
• Update the directory of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Search for new subcontractors and integrate them into the directory.
• Read plans and specifications.
• Organize and classify plans and specifications on the internal server as well as on the PLANGRID platform.
• Prepare preliminary project budgets and schedules in collaboration with designated authorities.
• Contact suppliers to obtain technical details of products and delivery times.
• Prepare work descriptions for each discipline.
• Negotiate and participate in awarding contracts to subcontractors when required.
• Archive bids and plans.
• Perform any other related tasks.

DURATION OF THE MANDATE:

The present mandate is of indefinite duration and varies depending on the projects underway. The schedule and workdays are at the discretion of the Estimation Director jointly with the President.

TRANSPORT:

The use of the estimator's vehicle is included in the present mandate for site visits, and a transportation pass will be provided for travel from the estimator's residence to the company headquarters.
